LOOKING AT A 1985 "2001" W/790 HRS. IS THAT ABOUT AVERAGE? HOW LONG DOES A NAUTIQUE ENGINE LAST IF TAKEN CARE OF AND MAINTAINED REGULARLY?

That is fairly low time. If it has been taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an engine w/ that many hours as long as the regular maintenance had been kept up with.2018 SAN 230

Bottom ends should go for 2-2500 hours. The key is that you have to take care of them.2001 Super Air Nautique

If the price if right. Hours really dont matter. for a boat that old. Those are very low hours given the year. You can always rebuild, cost would be between $1000 and $1500 if you do the removal and reinstall youself. And take the motor to a machine shop. I wouldnt even worry about the amount of hours. Those are great boats! When I get rid of my super air. I will probably buy another 2001hull ski nautique.Comment
