Getting to my engine? help :)

I recently bought a 2000 SAN with a GT40… I here all f you guys taking about various maintenance you do yourself on these boats & I always did most of my own stuff on my 2001 (1988). I look in the engine compartment and for the life of me how do you get to anything? I know some of the half walls in the compartment come out but it still seems very tight. I would like to change out the fuel filter but I keep looking at it & it seems like it will be extremely difficult to get to. I hate to take the boat in every time I need something done… I mean I can’t even see the oil drain hose down there. Are there more removable parts that help access that I am not seeing? Thanks guys!!!!

You can take the back seat bottom out but lifting the cusions and unstrapping the 4 bungy type holders. Then take your hand on the back seat back rest and pull straight up. It just unhooks. Then two pieces of carpet that seperate the back seat area to the engine just pull out. Then you have access to the fuel filters.

For the engine you open your hatch all the way. Then unscrew the hand screws for the dividers. Then you just kinda bend them and work them out.. both top and bottoms. Then if you still dont have enough room. You can remove the balast tanks. not a big deal..
