Third weekend out in our new 1992 SN.
This is an awesome boat and has been meticulously maintained. I have very detailed maintenance notes from the original owner since day 1.
Boat runs great except for one minor problem that seems to be getting worse:
When put into forward or reverse gear....75% of the time the boat tries to stall out and starts knocking. giving the boat a little more acceleration gets out of the problem.
In neutral, engine is at around 350 RPMS. When put inot gear, engine drops to around 260.
My uncle adjusted the idle screw to take it up to about 500 RPMs at neutral and this seems to have fixed the problem however we did this at the end of the day so I haven't had any additonal time in the boat since the fix.
Does this sound like a familiar problem? What's the standard idle setting?
