How tight should the fabric be on a good bimini top?
I just bought a Westland Bimini Top (81" x 60" Sunbrella) and it is one big saggy disapointment!
I actually mounted this thing to the wood floor in my shop so that I could fine tune the install before drilling any holes in the SN. I've tensioned the very skimpy straps they provide to the point of almost bending the frame and it doesn't make any difference. The fabric sags a good 3 to 4". It appears that the very left and right edge/seems are the tightest areas and are limiting the frame from expanding enough to take up the slack in the middle.
Also the center bow is as tight as the adjusting straps will pull it...I forced it up a bit more by hand but it doesn't seem to help any.
Am I asking too much from a bimini top? Seems like this thing would flap in the wind something fierce at 36.
Any ideas or tips on where to get a better bimini would be greatly appreciated.
