Soft Scrub on seats?

I had a friend out with me this weekend, who suggested to clean some of my seats with Soft Scrub (possibly with bleach). He said they use it on the vinyl on golf carts. When I bought the boat, it came with some sun fade/mildew/mold on the tops of the seats and engine cover. My girlfriend and I cleaned them the best we could with Fantastic and Magic Erasers. Then we put 303 over them. I went to the store yesterday, thinking about buying Soft Scrub, but I couldn't. I'm worried that it would be too abrasive. I think the vinyl just has permanent sun fade or mildew. Anyone try Soft Scrub to clean (or ruin) their vinyl?

mf01 - I worked at a boat marina when when I was younger for about 6 years and we used Soft Scrub on all of the bad/mildew boat seats.... however, they weren't my boat so I never knew how it held up. The material it self is not abrasive (i.e. pumice) but i'm not sure how strong it is chemically. All I do know is DON'T use 409. Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions based on using Soft Scrub on their own boats.

If you have a Larson or Glastron dealer near you ask their parts department to order you Part # 0680019 Vinal Finsh. It is made by GT the marine vinal manufacture. It works real well and won't distroy the top coat of vinal. Afterwards I go over the vinal with 303

Do not use soft scrub with bleach!!!! It will eat the stitching and your seats will pull apart.
I know this from first hand experience.

Woody at Correct Craft recommends the Meguiars vinyl and rubber cleaner/conditioner. i got some this weekend and man what an unbelievable difference that made. great stuff!!! not sure what to use for mildew removal though

Ok I'm getting around to spring cleaning and I ran out of GT vinyl cleaner vinyl finish. After a Google search, I've determined that they do not sell it under that name anymore. The new name is Ephx from GT vinyl. White Lake sells it. I called the dealer I bought the boat from and they use Meguires #57 vinyl and rubber protectant. White Lake recommends Ephx. Another dealer said thay use simple green.
I do have the manual and the recommended methods to treat stains and stuff in the owner's manual and the card from GT Industries that came with the boat.
What is everyone else using???

I go with the Magic Erasers then follow it up with 303. I don't think you can beat them, I have had stains I couldn't get out using all of the other ideas out there. The Magic Erasers did the job, just follow up with 303 or something else to protect the vinyl when you are done.

I use fantastic on the vinyl for cleaning and Mcguires for the protection. The owner's manual should have recommendations. I have 2000 and the marine vinyl used by CC has a protective finish on it that can be degraded by certain chemicals. The fantastic works great on the stitching with stiff bristle tooth brush.

Don't use the new formula of Fantastik. It will eat your stitching. Correct Craft no longer recommends the use of Fantastik since they changed the formula.
