Faria Speedo Wiring

I would be interested in the instructions recieved on wiring up the Faria Speedo when replacing a teleflex gauge. This is on a 02 196.

The instructions I recieved had nothing regarding the PP harness or the remaining wires.

Here is what I have done so far and the result.

Wire Tach and appears to work.

Speedo Wiring.
Potentiameter prewired on from WCCC.

PP Harness
Small Green wire to Sensor
Small White wire to GND
WCCC told me that's where those were to be wired

Purple Wire to Bat
Black Wire to GND
Blue Wire to Spaded Backlight

When I key on the boat, the speedo slowly goes all the way past 50 mph and then stops. Takes about 40 seconds for this to happen. Doesnt seem right.
