RE: Hourly Fuel Burn
I've got exact boat. I'm a little under 4 gal per engine hour this year, but I mainly do lots of kids skiing (from 14 to 28 mph) with a handful of adult (34 mph) runs. I rarely run the boat fast. It has prob. been over 40 mph a total of ten minutes. Just got back from a family reunion where we put 12.2 hours on the engine in three days, and we used 46 gals.
ps: The boat was a huge hit with my extended family. Taught people to ski, wakeboard, etc. My five year old is a skiing sensation -- she was double skiing with her uncles, albeit slowly... My eleven year old did a triple (on a slalom) with my two brothers, who always have been nuts behind the rope...and she survived. My seven year old was skiing on one ski with her uncles.... Boat was awesome. Pulled three people up on singles without breathing hard. It was quite the show on the small WI lake where we gathered.

Four an hour, but that's lots of slow kid skiing with plenty of idle time getting skiers into position, etc.
I know I burn more when I go out with three guys and all we do is ski hard, with almost no idle time on the clock between runs. I'm sure then it's double the petrol per hour that I do with family. But....but..if you go pretty easy on the throttle you can get a lot of hours out of a tank of gas.

Just an update: Last fill up was 21.6 gal at 5.1 hrs. Previous tank was 21 gal with 4.6 hrs. The last tank was over three days: Breakdown was: Family skiing (18 mph/22 mph/29/30 all equal amounts). Going nuts with some pals (nine good long pulls all at 34-35 mph). Kids again mostly, with two good runs at 35 mph. I do very little idling between runs. Someone drops, turn, shut it off til the next person is ready.
Boat is a 2007 206 with the 330 hp. Easy break-in, now not worrying about it. Total of 62 hours on the boat.
Last two tanks: 4.4 gal per hour.
I'm happy. My parents old 90 hp. two-stroke Johnson would go through an easy 12 gal in an afternoon of skiing.

RE: Throwing a party
One more update on the 206 with a 330 excalibur.
Just put 26.9 gal for 6.0 hours even. Basically 4.5 gal/hr.
This tank was much more adult: Three mornings of nothing but 34 mph, three short outings with a mix of 22-plus and some 34 mph.
I thought I would burn more with the harder use on the engine but I'm pleased. Engine has about 68 on the clock now. Should be getting nice and broken in....
Weather now in MN is completely perfect. Hot, still....and the water is warmer than my shower. i'm skiing as much as my back will take.
Carry on!
