OK all, just wanted to see if anybody else had anything to chime in on this. For sometime now, I have had an issue with my Perfect Pass searching when I cut to the starboard side of the wake. That happens to be RF forward/toeside for me. When I cut out and stop to wait for the pull back in, the boat hangs at the apex of my cut, which is strange, because other than the angle of the pull, that is about the minimum of force applied during the entire cut-out/cut-in. I weigh about 225 lbs, ride at 80 ft., usually ride at a GPS synced 23.5/24.0 mph and have various amounts of weigh in the boat, but usually pretty loaded. PP settings are kdw=180, nn=80, ver. 6.4. As I wait for the pull, either switch HS or reg. TS, The boat will drag, the wake deforms and the lip will curl. And trust me, I can't wait long enough for it to reshape. Yesterday, I was so pissed that I snagged up a passing stick and beat the wake with it, but, of course, that did not help. For the record, cutting from the opposite side of the boat is consistent and solid as a rock.
On the bottom of my boat, the PP paddlewheel is mounted about 6-8 ft. directly behind the belly ballast intake scoop. The scoop is a clamshell type strainer. I have read a few comments on this forum about replacing with a flush style fitting that resolves the turbulence to the paddlewheel from the scoop strainer. I have even heard rumblings that there was a mysterious "service bulletin" that documented the problem and it could be replaced under warranty. I have talked to service dept.'s at North AL Nautiques, White Lake Marine, MWCC, and SECC. Nobody in there service dept.'s had the service bulletin and all seemed to be unfamiliar with it, although a few thought that they might have heard of it.
Does anybody have personal experience with this? Does anybody have this mythical "service bulletin"? Has anybody ever dealt with this issue before? I am extremely frustrated as I am limited to doing things from only one side of the wake.
Thanks for the help....
