I have read most of the previous posts re Teleflex digital readout speedos on the site but I'm still looking for more input. My speedo is crapping out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I was thinking of moving my tach, which is still working fine into the centre slot of the dash layout and installing 2 speedos, one on each side and utilize both pitots on the hull. Boat does not have PP and don't really want to drill thru hull to install a paddle style pickup. Has anyone recently located a viable solution for this issue. I agree with a lot of other owners and feel that somehow CC and/or Teleflex should step up. I am the second owner and the boat only has 54 hrs on it. Any and all input and advice is appreciated.

I beleive CC has stepped up. They have a very reasonably price replacement package for replacing the guages. Also Teleflex now also offers a solution theat does not need to install a paddlewheel. If you are doing any course skiing I would reccommend the PP. Replace the Speedo with the PP guage . Boat Speedo's are a waste of time in my opinion anyway.The hole for the paddlewheel is scarey but if you measure 3X drill once you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner.Nautiqueless in San DiegoComment

MHayes, I was looking for input from someone like newwakesurfer that had changed to the Premier speedos and I wanted to know if they were a satisfactory product. I was also referring to a gauge solution not how to drill the hole for the paddlewheel. I understand I can get a perfect pass product that runs off the tach sensor and would consider it based on expense. I don't compete any more and don't have access to a course on a regular basis so really didn't want to lay out the $$ for a perfect pass for open water skiing when I have no complaints about my driver.
I have sent an e-mail to CC and I am waiting for their reply regarding replacement options.

The Livorsi gauges are really nice.
I have a customer that uses them in all of his boats, and they look and work nicer than anything I have seen. They also make oversize gauges as well, for fuel, temp etc, so there is no squinting, but unless your starting from scratch, and making a new instrument panel, the standard gauges will have to suffice.
Have you checked with the local dealer in Richmond? They might be able to help?

I was at Richmond this aft and decided to order the tach/speedo replacement set with the paddle wheel. I figure based on other people's experiences eventually the tach will go. I wasn't too impressed with the cost plus the fact I will have to drilll the hole in the hull.
The reply I got back from CC told me I could buy the replacements from them through the dealer. Different price than I was quoted.
I have sent an email back asking if there is any way to get some assistance on pricing. No response yet.
The Livorsi option is nice but a little pricey especially if the Gov't decides to add duty. Thanks for your input.Comment
