I have a 1990 Ski Nautique and I am actually facing to an engine problems when I sail with my boat.
At slow speed mode (~2000 RPM), my motor start to cough and loose power of course. With higher speed (> 3500), he coughs a little bit at the beginning and then runs normally. I think that it is a small concern with the adjustment of the motor advance . With the idle (~800rpm) I do not have this phenomen. :???:
I heard that the advance is adjusted with a stromboscopic lamp so that the sparks occurs at the proper time. I do not have that kind of lamp. I have been told that it was possible to do it with an ordinary lamp.
Can you help me to adjust the advance ( screw patinated) and to solve problem ?
- Or to connect the lamp?
- How connected?
- how to adjust correctly?
Any clear instruction with drawing migth be really helpfull
