Glass windshield replacement

I have an '06 220 and my windshield has crazy sratches where the tint was removed. I want to replace the 2 pieces that are scratched (the one in fornt of the observer's seat and the one in front of the driver's seat), however Southeast told my dealer that the vendor will only sell the complete windshield. The cost of a complete windshield is about $1500. Anyone have any ideas on how I might get around it a little cheaper?

do a search on google or sumthin for a winshield repair kit. i've seen some pretty bad scratches completely "removed"
