When checking Tranny fluid- In the water or on the trailer?
RE: When checking Tranny fluid- In the water or on the trail
Ideally, When hot, floating in the water, level, with the engine running at an idle, after putting the transmission in forward, then reverse, and then back to neutral. It needs to be changed every 100 hours, or once a year, at winter layup.

I believe there are diff lines on the dip stick for checking when the lines are full (warm and running) and for after oil flows back to the trans (cold check?).

My manual shows two different ways. One line is for in the water and warm. The other is for cold on the trailer. So either should work. Check your manual.
