    Speedo Not working?

I have a 2000 SAN and the speedo is doing weird things. Sometimes it goes out due to weeds or sand in the pick up, so I throw it in reverse to clean them out. Lately the speedo works but it is way off. It reads about 8mph when we are really doing about 22-23. Anyone have any idea on how to trouble shoot this?

In 2000 you have a electronic module that the 2 pitot tubes run to. If you can get to that and remove the hoses and blow compressed air through them. The unit takes the average. I beleive If one is plugged it would cause a problem. I have never been a big fan of boat speedos. Other than GPS there is no good way to measure it.

Rick, do you know where that module is located?

Its is on the back of the transom. In a DD it's really easy to get to. In a V drive I think it's a little harder. Look up a post on the new teleflex guage replacement I think the poster had a V drive and explains where it is.
