I noticed last night that the break lights and blinkers work on the trailer, the the lights that are supposed to be constantly on do not come on. I have a 5 prong plug with 4 male prongs and 1 female, with blue, green, yellow, 2 blacks and a white. It is a 2005 trail-rite trailer. I noticed the blue wire has copper showing and some of the copper strands are disconnected. Is the blue responsible for the constant lights? Anyone know what each wire is responsible for? Is it easy to replace the plug if need be?

RE: Trailer Lights
The blue wire on a 5 prong could be the reverse indicator that is used to lock out disk brakes when you back up or for electric brakes. If you have hydraulic activated drum brakes the blue probably isn't being used - they use the 5 prong anyways so they don't have to stock multiple connectors.

trailer lights
yellow - left turn signal
green - right turn signal
brown - park / tail lights
white - ground
jmo is right, blue is (usually) for reverse - to lockout the brakes when backing up.
SO it's either the fuse as MNsuperAir said, or it could be a bad connection on the brown wire at some point. The end plugs are easy to replace and readily available at auto parts stores and well-stocked marinas. How 'bout a little reverse action...
