Volmeter voltage drop low when cranking engine ???

    Dear all,

I have a correct craft " Ski nautique" serie of 1989, and I have a small quetsion relative to voltage.
My battery has 12v if I measure it directly with voltmeter.
When I turn the ignigtion key, my dashboar voltmeter shows 10V instead of 12.

Then when I crank my engine, voltmeter drop far under 8 volt.
Does anyone have this behavior too ?
How to solve that if it is a real bad grounding issue ?

    thanks for your help

Mine does that too, its completely normal. It usually reads 2volts low due to the resistance running through the dash.

The fix is not worth the effort IMO, but if you want to get it to read normal wire the volt meter directly to the battery.
