    Muffler padding

The other day I found a long piece of padding loose in the bilge. It's about 1/4 thick, 3.5 inches wide and about 18 inches long. It's black rubberized material. One side clearly has had some type of adhesive applied to it. My suspicion is its the padding that goes between the muffler and the floor. Anyone have this problem?

If so where exactly should I place this piece of padding once I get the muffler up? Also, could this be the cause of my mysterious intermittent vibration in the floor of my boat?

By the way, my boat is a 2005 196.

    Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem. You should be able to see the adhesive marks in the bilge I do not think ot was attached to the muffler. If not I would put it where it will make the most contact with the bilge and glue it to the bilgewith 5200.
