Need some advice for a new prop

I have a '95 Sport, and I'm looking to get a new prop. We don't run any ballast wakeboarding right now, but might in the future, and then it would be 1,000 lbs tops.

I've looked at the Acme 422,
    Diameter: 12.5
    Pitch: 15.5
    Cup Size: .105
    Bore: 1"
    Rotation: RH

Does that seem like the best route to go? I also saw that the Acme 470 is recommended for 1,000 lbs of ballast, but it is 3 blade... I'm not sure which would be best for me.

I'm not sure if the '95 sport had gear reduction but if it doesn't a 4 blade won't do much for you. I would recommend giving ACME a call. They are very nice and helpful.

The Acme 3-blades outperform the 4-blades on the direct drives. The 470 is quicker (out of the hole) and faster (top end) than the 470. It also turns 180-200 more RPM, so it would be perfect if youre running some ballast.

I replaced the original Mich. Federal on my '92 SN with an Acme 422 and I can't stop grinning...smoooother, faster, better hole shot & that gnarly growl you get in a right hand turn is gone now as well. I think the 470 might be a little bit better for wakeboarding but I've heard that the 470 does growl in the turns a little.

The 470 is a little louder than the 422- thats all the time, not just in the turns. The 470 will be better for wakeboarding with the increased RPM's, but it will also outperform the 422 on an unweighted boat- it was quicker and faster on both my '90 and my dad's 196.

Any CNC milled prop outperforms the Federal.
Go down on the pitch and your boat comes out of the hole like mad.
My SAN03 now revs a 13*16 pitch, original is an 14*18 pitch.
Holeshot is great also when loaded with people and ballast.
Stall is 1000 rpm higher. So 4000 rpm stall instead of 3000rpm stall, over there you find some 100 more horses more awakened.
Top speeds slightly lower. Topspeed is not my thing. Better buy a Baja for that.
