Nothing has to replaced. There are different types of Lpg systems. But we run the most easy one. And it run's on all type of engine (multiport/singleport injection, caburator, or just an air intake).
Lpg tank(s) -> vaporizer -> Mixer
That's all.
We use a vaporizer to vaporise the liquid propane and transfer it to a mixer which is bolted on the air intake. It's a replacedment part for the spark arrestor/air filter, so that has to go. But that is the only thing that will have to come off. See the mixer as a lpg carburator, there are alot of "old" boats which took the carburator off and replaced it by a mixer. Just use a switch with some relais to cut of the petrol fuel injectors and switch on the lpg system. You'll have to set the mixer and vaporizer to the right values like a carburator and then everything is set. Flip the switch and you are running on Petrol, flip it again and it runs on propane. It starts normal on propane. You really cannot tell a difference (only smell it).
There are some more technology advanced systems (expecially on cars nowdays), which uses injectors to inject the vaporised propane, multple injector (so every cilinder inlet has it's own injector like petrol, just drill it in the air intake), or even multiple injection system which work with liquid propane (higher presure). These last systems are even generating more HP to your engine. But it will take a full day and a specialist to install these systems.
The system we have is really bullit proof and can be installed by dummies (that means us) in 3 hours or so. We don't feel any lost of power, the lpg system use about 10% more propane then petrol (22litre instead of 20litre per hour) and it's really easy to use. Propane is about 3 times cheaper in the Netherlands then petrol, can be refueled at every pertrol station. And as a bonus it's more environmental friendly.

Where do you all ski. My cousin, who's from Oxford and is in the RAF , spent a week with us and made sure she learned how to ski before her visit here. I was pretty impressed with what she had learned in the short time she had to prepare for her visit, and I was surprised to hear that she took lessons some where on the Thames. The first thought that came to me was that it must have been like skiing on the Hudson River around Manhattan, although I know the Thames has a little more to it then that.
