starting engine sometimes takes a while

I have 2005 SAN 210. Sometimes before going to the lake, it will start right up. Then when i stop it, and try to restart, it keeps turning over and doesnt start for several minutes. It keeps sounding like it wants to get gas and start. When it finally starts i give it some gas in nuetral and let it run for a while. Then i stop and and start it again and it starts right up. Seems every other time i try to start it takes several minutes. Anyone had this problem? Also-Just replaced the ignition switch because sometimes when turning the key i wasnt getting juice and had to bump the dash to get power. I get power every time now, but turning all the way to the right to start the engine, i get nothing sometimes. Then wait a minute and turn again and hear the starter trying to start the engine. Anyone know why this is? Starter?

sometimes just a click and nothing. But when i turn the key and wait a few seconds it will start to turn over and i can hear it cranking the engine. Just replaced ignition switch. Where is the starter relay? Easy to replace?

Follow the red wire from the battery and the red wire from the starter. They meet at the soleniod. Yes it's easy to replace. Also check your ground wire for corrosion at the engine and the battery. Also the ground from the engine to the solenoid.

Did replacing your start relay solve the problem? I'm having a similar problem now with my 97 Ski with GT-40 and found that the fuel pump was not always running when turning the key from stop to run. I've just replaced my start relay but not water tested yet.

I noticed my old start relay would get very hot to the touch when idling on the trailer after about 10 mins. Should this relay get that hot or is that a sign that it is defective?
