    bleeping alternator

    help...........cant get alternator out!........bolt that alternator rotates on faces front of boat....when i try to remove that bolt it hits black fiberglass exhaust whatever that exhaust manifolds blow into....friend tells me that bolt should face the rear......then i would only have to back it out (toward the bow) 2" and my alternator falls out....this is like one of fords better ideas........anyone got any ideas?........
    can i cut hole in fiberglass and glass over the hole?
    this is stupid. any and all help greatly appreciated.

      I helped a buddy remove his alternator on his 02 210. The lower bolt your talking about, Im pretty sure pulls out towards the rear of the boat and the nut is on the front side of the foot towards the front of the boat hope that makes sence.

      You have to remove the rubber exhaust pipe. Just take off the 2 hose clamps and pull the rubber exhaust tub to the side that way you will be able to move the Muffler out of the way. I know its tight and there is not much room back there but if you wanna save some money and DIY your gonna have to get in there and move some stuff out of the way.

        dont blame ford they didnt put that muffler in the way thats a pcm/cc deal. i would also not recomend putting a hole in a $500 muffler but its your boat good luck.
