    Please Help...Engine oddity

    This past weekend my "Oil" light would flash and the alarm would beep a few times and then go away (seemed to beep and flach 2-3 times and then stop).

    Also, every time I slowed down to pick-up the rider black smoke would start coming out of the stern of the boat.

    Any ideas? I checked the oil level...that was good. I checked the engine temperature...that was good.

    Black smoke is to much gas. If you RPM is falling or the engine is not running well I think as the rpm's drop the oil pressure does also. I would try a tune up Water Dryer in the gas, and a new fuel filter. If that doesn't do it I would do a tune up. When you pull a spark plug are the light brown or black on the tips If black you may have a spark problem.
