      RE: """Mold """

Mold spores are everywhere. All they need is some food, and high enough humidity to grow. Any food for yourself that falls into the carpet, or even dead skin cells you and everybody that has ever been in your boat, sheds off, feeds them.
Carefully cleaning the carpet, storage compartments, under and behind seats, will help. I have used a mild solution of Clorox on the carpet, and under the gunnels to help remove most of the dirt and gunk, and that helps to keep the smell down.
Another option is getting the the boat dry, but that might be hard to do in a humid climate, unless you could get the boat into an air conditioned garage. You can also get small cannisters of dry air crystals, that will help pull the moisture out of the boat with the cover on. Opening up all the seats and storage compartments, and taking all the wet gear out helps too.
