Hi I should be getting my 1992 ski nautique open bow today and would like to crank it on the trailer. I have never owned a nautique and would appreciate the help, thanks.

Check to see if the boat has a flushpro valve in the 11/4" inlet hose. If there is then just hook the hose up turn it on and start the engine. Make sure you hear water flowing. If you don't have a flusjhpro a Fake-a-Lake can be used. Its looks like a toilet plunger witha garden hose fitting. Put it under the boat over the water inlet turn on the water and then start the boat There should be alot of water poring out from around the fake-a-lake until you start the boat then most of the water should be sucked into to inlet. I just remove the hose that goes from the thru hull fitting to the raw water strainer, and put a different hose onto that fitting that has the other end in a 5 gallon painter's bucket. I then put the water hose in the bucket, and fill it up, then start the engine. I also place this bucket under the exhaust so that it "recycles" the water. By doing this I can keep the flow of water at a greater rate than the hose can supply by itself, and i also am letting the boat decide how much water it wants, and not forcing water in the engine under the pressure of the garden hose.
If you ahve broadband, here is the link to a movie where I am running the engine in this manner:
