2007 SV211 TE taking on water!

28 hours on the boat. It has been taking on water from day one. This weekend, she almost sank in 40 feet of water. Wakesurfing with two fatsacs on the port side, port tank filled and center tank half filled, 6 people in the boat, two of which were children. Bilge pump running the entire time and YES, the plug was in the boat. We had so much water in the boat, that the engine was half submerged, both lockers were full and we had all water pumps going, including the fatsac pump trying to get the water out. Barely made it to the shore, shut off the two ballast valves beside the plug, and pumped all of the water out. Boat started back up and we made it back to the landing and did not seem to be taking on much water. ??????????

Left the boat at the Nautique Marina for service.

Anyone have ideas. I can not believe that this happened today.

Sounds like the water is entering the vent on the side of the boat.....I've heard some 211 owners putting tape over the vent when wakesurfing.

Sounds like too much weight- but there must be a leak in the lines to a tank

It happens to us when we have our extra bags and tanks full while surfing. The vent on the side you are surfing is going to deep in to the lake and caching the water while moving. The more weight the more the vent is under water and so the more it will come in through the vent. I haven’t needed to tape it closed yet and I don’t mind the extra water while surfing, but my bilge pumps keeps up with the amount of extra water coming in. I know if I were to add more weight I would half to tape the vent closed, but I don’t want duct tape on my boat so I’m am gong to look in to having someone mill me a vent, with the holes angled forward, to try to make the water harder to get in while surfing, so I don’t have that ugly tape on my boat.

Thank you for the posts but I do not think the water was coming in the vents. I was sitting on the back of the boat and watching the water line because I read the posts on surfing this boat and what to watch out for. I did have a 260lb sack in the port locker, and a 425lb sack on top of the port locker but I have seen posts with SV211 setups for surfing and they had considerably more weight than we had. As I said in my first post, the boat has been taking on water from day one. My theory is that the problem is tied with the ballast system. The service tech is going to put the boat in the water tomorrow on the trailer and see if he can determine where the water is coming into the boat. Updates will follow.

Hey Parker, I had the same problem on my 05 211TE. Check the tracking fins on the bottom.. If the screws are out or missing water will come in fast!!!! I had to run my pumps. But it was fixed and so far no problems like have occured. There should be 4 screws in all three fins. Good Luck. If not trade it in on a 08 210.

Was the rub rail under water with all the weight in the boat? If so there is the possibility that the water is coming in from between the hull and the deck -

AuMDLST- You were correct with your diagnosis of the problem. The service techs had to put the boat in the water, fill the tanks to see where the water was coming into the boat. There was a 4-5" gap in the back of the boat were someone at the factory forgot to seal the hull to the deck. This allowed water to get in the boat and fill the bilge. We almost sunk on Sunday and traumatized my family. I am a little pissed because I paid 60K for a ski boat expecting only the highest quality. I almost purchased a Centurion Avalanche. I hope I did not make a bad decision.

I am going to file the correspondence between Correct Craft Quality Control manager and the Service tech just in case I have issues with the engine after flooding the boat.

I know exactly what you mean - it was a letdown to go and pick up a brand new boat and find out they were looking for a leak - I just had a trikle of water - I still believe they produce excellent boats and their service for these kinds of issues is typically top notch - I would absolutely get the incident documented with CC as you mention in case you have future issues
