    Throttle body fuel injection conversion

Does anyone know if I can convert my PCM 351 with the holley carb. to be throttle body injected? I've heard of people converting their Bronco's with the 351 over, I'm wondering if there are even any kits out there to do it.

    pj,

Yes, it can be done. It's not a cheap proposition. I've been looking at the same thing for my '93 Sport with the 351 Pro Boss. It looks like the best setup is the Holley.

Do a google search for this and you'll find pricing in the $1500 range. The controller computer needed will depend on the HP rating of your 351. I'm going to stick with my Holley for now. It goes to the shop on saturday to sort out the fuel problems I currently have. Hope this helps.

Figured it probably wouldn't be trivial. Just was wondering if people were doing it. Thanks.

I changed mine over.My friend had a holley projection setup he took off of an engine ,he sold it to me for 200.00.It works really well, have not had any problems with it at all.I dont care for the holley fuel pump, but it easy to change if something went wrong.I'm thinking this winter of installing an in tank fuel pump.Hooking everything up is not hard at all.The hardest part i ran into is tuning it,When u adjust the knobs a little they make a big difference.Took me about 3 hours to put everything in.Another problem is a return line.I took out my fuel sending unit and put a fitting on the outer edge of it,works excellent.Overall i thought it was well worth it,sure does beat burning 4.5 gallons per hour.I put mine on a 84 2001

I was thinking about converting for two main reasons. First because of better fuel efficiency and not having to constantly be monkeying around with the carb. setup. Secondly, I purchased my boat used and it came with a perfect pass setup. I love the perfect pass, but it really screws up the starting procedure. When I first go to start the boat, it usually needs a little bit of throttle applied to get it going. The dumb perfect pass doesn't allow the cable running to the carb to actually move when I pump the throttle before starting. It only starts to adjust itself after the engine is running. I don't think Perfect Pass was really designed for non-injected boats. That's my guess anyway.

I just got perfect pass for my boat, the wakeboard pro.I dont have that problem.I called perfect pass before i installed it,he said make sure the perfect pass is turned off and you turn the key on ,wait for a few seconds then do the cranking procedure. When you turn the key on the motor winds up and tightens up the cable.
