    No stern eyes on 206

I have an 03 SN 206 that did not come with stern eyes. I have never seen a boat without them and there does not appear to be any way to strap the stern to the trailer when towing (which is required in many states). Is there a reason CC would not put stern eyes on a 206, or is this simply an ommission from the factory? Its not hard to add them, but I was just wondering if there was any reason not to add them. Also, is there another point from which to strap the stern to the trailer that I am missing?

    Thanks,

    Jack

Try strapping down your boat to the trailer by using the swim platform brackets - I do that on my 206 and it works great.

Strap to the grab rails or the lifting ring. If there is enough force too make either fail the least of your worries is the tie downs.

My 99 196 SNOB doesn't have them either. I too use the swim platform bracket to strap mine down, and it has worked w/o fail.

I asked the same question. I just used brackets under the platform.

I would not use the grab rail, but the swim platform is attached just as well as the lifting rings, and is just as strong.

you can also use a long strap that goes over the whole boat, and just wrap some rags or carpet on the parts where it touches the hull so it doesn't scratch... lots of smaller boats do this, though it's not quite as good as two transom tie-downs...
How 'bout a little reverse action...

I have a 1997 Ski. I use the lifting eye for the attachment points for the tie downs. The eyes on the trailer are spread out wide, and the straps of the tie down go to the outside at about a 45 degree angle, just outside of the platform brackets, and above the speedometer pitots on each side.
I would not use the hand rail grab for the tie down, they are designed for a person to pull their self on to the platform, not for heavy loads.
