    SV- 211 which prop?

I just picked up a 07 211. I wanted an extra prop so I ask for a "power prop". They put on a ACME 1235 which is 14.5 X 14.25 four blade. It is nice for surfing and wakeboarding but it is not great for cruising or skiing. 30 mph is about 4000 RPM and it red lines the boat.

The other prop that came on the boat I think is a ACME 381 which is 13 1/2 X 17 1/2.

It is great for cruising and not bad out of the hole but there is a big difference surfing.

I would like to try to find something in between. I was told there is a ACME 645 but I do not know what size it is.

The "power prop" was also a lot louder at medium and high RPM.

    Any suggestion would be great.

    RE: SV- 211 which prop?

The 645 is 13.25 X 16.00. I run the 1235 on mine and the RPM's at WOT are 5100 which is within the range it should be, top speed is 42mph. I mostly board and surf now so the 1235 works great, a lot of power out of the hole. Do a search on here, there have been other threads in the past on this topic that are very helpful.

Give Acme a call, 888-661-ACME, they can give you their recommendations. Redline for the Excaliber is 5200 rpm, and it doesn't reach it's rated 330hp until 5000 rpm. No matter which prop you choose, your engine should reach at least 4800 rpm at WOT. I run a 644 (645 is the equivalent for your boat - even last digit turns right, odd last digit turns left) and it works for everything that I do, surfing, boarding, skiing and cruising. If I was just going to surf and board and run around with a bunch of extra ballast I'd go to a different prop (the 1234/1235 is considered the "power" prop for this boat)

If you were going to keep two props (one every day and one back up) would you keep the stock prop and the 645, the 645 and the 1235 or 1235 and stock prop? I have had to use my back up prop before and it has saved a vacation week.

644 was the one I got with the boat (opposite rotation of the 645). I switched to a 1234 (opposite of the 1235) and only saw about 2 mph drop in top speed. 4000 rpms shouldn't be a prolem with these boats, however I could see you're concern if you're barefooting and running it at 5000 40mph all day. I would thing the 645 would be better for you. I agree, that you should call ACME. Tell them what you are doing and they should be able to fit you with the right prop. Very knowledgable.

645 is the stock prop on the 211 now I believe.

Mine came with a 13 1/2 X 17 1/2 which I belive is 381. I sent ACME an e-mail last night when I posted here so I will see what they send back.

OK I just got off the phone with ACME (great guy). I think the 645 will be the everyday prop and I will keep the other two. He was surprised that the 645 was not the prop that came with the boat but I check again and it is the bigger one.

I believe that the 381 comes on the signature and limited editions. The 645 comes on the team edition.

Ya that's correct. Because the Limited and Signature do not come standard with ballast they come with a little bigger prop. My boat has all three tanks so you would think they would change the prop but they did not. I will talk with the dealer next week and see what a new prop will cost.

The guy at ACME indicated that while surfing the 1235 should give better fuel economy. Thanks for the help.

I have had 6 props on my 211 (EX 330).

                        Acme 380 stock SE prop
                        Re-pitched/destroyed 380
Acme 644 my current spare/stock team prop
Acme 536 stock 210 team prop
                        Acme 1160 my current prop
                        OJ 13.7 X 15.7 0.105 pitch

I also have bigger exhaust manifolds on the EX 330 that help the mid range and top end a bit plus I barefoot so I like to keep the RPMs in check at full throttle. The 1160 is the best all around performer for my needs. The OJ was a compromise in holeshot and top end. The 644 is a good prop when I need a little more out of the hole, I keep it for a spare/high-altitude prop. I would not mind swapping the 644 for a 1234. My boat is a 2005, new boats will have similar props in opposite rotation, just add 1 to the numbers above to get the same prop in the 2007+ rotation.

Search for acme posts by Mikeski, I have made several posts over the past 3 years on my props.

Great info. Where do you ski? I see you are in the Bay Area. I am out in the East Bay and the Delta is it most of the time.

                            Mike,
I went back and read several of your post. Great info. I have narrowed it down to 645 or 1161. I will call ACME on Monday but from what you can remember could you compare the 644 to the 1161. It sounds like you are saying 380, 1160, 644, 1234. and I need to decide between a little more surfing (645)or more skiing and cruising(1161).

                              RLS,

I ski McClure and the delta. You will be happier with the 645 if you don't barefoot or lots of fast cruising. The 211 EX with the 1161 is not the fastest thing out of the hole. I will be up at McClure next Saturday if the weather stays nice, maybe at the CC reunion if not.
