    Ski Locker Water

I've been reading through some of the bilge water threads and haven't seen my problem come up. I have a new (2007, 50 hours) 211 that has about an inch of water in the ski locker when I get home. While on the water, my boys are wake boarding a bit and some tubing, but no heavy duty use since they're only 9, 7 and 7 9(yes, twins). We see water coming out of the back bilge hole, but not the front. I leave the "Bilge Only" switch on for the 25 minute ride home, but there was some left in there after a 4.5 hour ride home from Shasta too. I don't normally take the plug out each time because the dealer said it wasn't necessary. Should I be more worried about how the water got in there, or why it isn't getting pumped out? I'm frustrated....Where should I start looking?

    RE: Ski Locker Water

Start by removing the plug for the ride home, if the 211 also has a rear plug remove that as well. Once you know there is absolutely no water in your bilge or locker then you can determine whether or not there is a leak. If you do not have a dripless packing then you should expect some water coming in.

The pumps will take out most water but not all, also if there is a drain hole or channel from your ski locker to the bilge area check that it is not clogged with debris.

We took delivery of a new "07" 206 this summer and the dripless packing was not tight on the shaft and when we were under way the water was comming in around the shaft and our ski locker had water in it. I was able to fix it at home but on a v-drive it could be a little tougher. Hope this helps.

On my Sport Nautique sitting in the driveway for winterization there is an inch or two of water sitting in the ski locker from cleaning. It appears the drain hole is about an inch or two above the bottom not allowing the water to drain unless the boat is at a good upright angle. I was going to throw my fat sac pump in there to drain it.
