remote oil filter kit for the Python 502

For any of you that have a Python in a V-drive, this is a gift from the heavens. MWCC/PCM finally came across with them for me and a friend. In order to change the filter on this beast in a SAN, you have to be a right handed, 140lb contortionist. None of which I am.
This fall, I am going to do my final filter change whilst standing on my head.

Wakeslayer - are you paying cash for that filter kit, or putting it on credit card

Couldn't resist. I bet you can't wait to get that remote installed. I've only seen pictures of a SAN Python, but it sure looks tight. I'm surprised that air can get down there, much less an arm to change the filter.

        Good luck.

It is brutal. There is great potential for a Valdez sized mess in the bilge. It is the one thing that I truly dislike about the boat. No longer, though.

            Mike,
Does the oil drain line from the pan come with that kit? If not, do you know what the oil pan drain plug threads are? I would rather be able to drain through the bottom of the boat on oil changes, although the pump out vacum has been working ok. I've only seen one python setup with the remote filter and I definitely want to get mine setup for it. Ours probably isn't as bad as a vdrive, but it still down low, and very difficult to get out without spilling into the bilge.

Please let me know part#'s or contact info at MWCC. Also, $$?

            thanks,
            Jack

              Jack,
I am surprised you don't have the drain hose. I have it on mine but it would take all day to drain it so I used the vacuum deal, as well. Are you positive it isn't down there somewhere ? Call Bruce at MWCC 260-833-2226. I have not installed mine yet as I need to engineer a bracket to hold it. I am thinking of going either off the bracket that hold the water separator if the hoses are long enough, or just mount it to the stringer. Hoping to get this resolved this week as I want to winterize this weekend.

see if your guy can track down this PCM part#
                R090236

this is a bracket that bolts where the exhaust riser bolts to the main exhaust manifold. The part is from the "2nd" gen. Python, ie. 8.1 version, but should work for you...
I found this on PCM parts catalog for the Python. I found it online somewhere...I could email it to you if you like...PM your email to me.

I finally got a remote filter kit installed in this beast.
I should have taken a before picture to demonstrate the tight quarters, but did not think of it. There were a couple challenges, but was not too bad of a job.
