    GT40 engine wiring loom

    Hi Guys,

Just had my engine rebuilt and mechanic has run the alternator harness along the left cylinder head to the alternator when originally it was run alomg the right hand cylinder head, there are now two wires that emerge from the loom that he does not know where to connect, both have a small eye crimp like those on the water temp sensor, now if I re-run the cable harness correctly, one of these wires looks light brown or white could coonect the the water sensor on inlet manifold, the other is green and would then connect somewhere under the upper intake manifold, but where and to what??? Appreciate any help otherwise this weekend spent tracing wires!! Thanks Greg

It would help to know what model and year boat it is?

not sure if this helps but my green wire goes to my temp sensor on a 97 super sport GT40 My sensor is up a bit because of the heater connection. I can't tell where the brown one goes and the boat is in storage so I can't look either.

Thanks for the info and photo, I have it sorted now, although the green wire appears to be the overtemp switch and turns on my dashboard red warning light, white wire goes to temp gage.
