Pro Air Nautique Year: 1999 - Q; about the Tower and Engine

    Hi

Ich have a Question about the Tower from a 1999 Pro Air Nautique. Can i replace the Tower with a Tower from the Year 2000? Is it easy, same mounting points? I do like them much more.

My second Question is about the GT40 Engine - it has 600h . Is that a problem for the Engine?

Is there something special to check when take a look at the boat ( 600h )
    ?

    Thanks a lot

600 Hours are not a problem for a Gt40> I've seen Gt-40 with more then 4000 hours and still running strong!!
The mounting points of the towers are not the same, but a good gel coat repair guy can fixed that without a problem!

I agree with laptom, and if you are fairly handy, you can probably repair the old holes yourself. As far as a newer tower, a lot of us are using FCT replicas by New Dimension.

Regarding the hours, a 1999 most likely has been used for 9 full season, 50hrs per season is considered average use.
The Pro has been run about 65hrs per season, in some ways more hours are considered better then less and as the other guy's mentioned that motor should have quite a bit of life left in it.
Just an FYI, I had a 99' and that tower folded will most likely not fit thru a standard garage door, mine just cleared my 8' high door when folded, with the newer style, depending on your trailer, they should fit a standard door when folded.

The only problems we had with our 99' Air were the ballast pumps and the depth gauge and the trunk lock cable never worked very well. Great boat all around.

        Good Luck!

I think average use probably depends upon where you live, and how long the boating season lasts. In my area, I expect 100 hours per year. Still, with proper maintenance, these PCM engines are rated for 2500 hours or more. BKH

            Hi,
            I have a 99 Pro Air, and I've updated to the newer style tower, I used New Dimensions for a few reasons;
powder coating available on order-pick your color
            great tech support
running light option built into tow point on tower

I mounted mine and was able to use the original front mounting locations, though I did need to fill in the original mounting holes.
The new tower is much more solid, and it's easy to find racks and other tower accesories.
