Nautique Trailer

I am looking at buying a Nautique that is on the original trailer. The problem is that most of my boating is done in salt water. I don't think that the painted trailer will hold up to the salt. So I was wondering if anyone knew how much a new galvanized trailer would cost? I can't find any quotes or used ones online and I am looking for the cheapest option possible. The current trailer is in good condition so I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make it salt water ready? Like maybe painting it with something, or is it possible to get this one galvanized? I have heard of some people painting their trailers with truck bed liner. Would this protect it? Thanks, James.

I used the black painted original trailer in salt water for six years,there aresome rust occur,but just on surface,i spray paint (can spray paint) to recover it,but absolutely no structural problemso far,the wheel bearing more fast gone, shower it with fresh water complete is helpful.however,I agree galvanized will better for salt water. and no need repaint

Thanks, I am starting to think maybe I will just use the original trailer. After buying the boat I won't be able to afford a new trailer. Also I noticed that the trailer frame is open so there is nowhere that I won't be able rinse off. So I think I would just use this trailer and rinse it every time and touch it up when necessary. go to lowes and buy Cold Galvanizing Compound and paint it if you want, it makes everything galvanized, your best bet is to buy a Galvanized Ramlin
