    Starting boat out of water

I own a 1986 Correct Craft Martinique with a 351 from PCM. I need to start it out of the water for around 2-3 minutes to fix an engine noise in stereo system. Water has been drained from block but not winterized yet. I know I need to run water through engine just trying to figure best way without taking it to lake.

I saw the fake a lake online. I will look for the perko also. Thanks.

I went to the hardware store to get parts to connect a garden hose to the RWP intake. Mine connects just after the strainer, but you can get smaller sized fittings to connect before the strainer. I put mine in front of the strainer so the antifreeze wouldn't go through it when I sucked it out of the pail. In the pic, I set the connector on top of the strainer where it went in.

go buy a 1 inch hose of some kind, 4-5 feet long. splice it in to the intake somewhere, put the other end in a 5 gal. bucket. run your garden hose into the bucket. fire it up, it will suck straight from the bucket. best, cheap answer i have seen. the one pictured above is good but stick the other end in a bucket. sucking out of a bucket works just like sucking from the lake.

1" inner diameter clear, flexible PVC tubing works really well for this. The pressure at idle or just above won't collapse it, but it is easy to work with and you can see that everything is working. On my old boat, I used to just connect to the transmission cooler and drop the other end in the bucket. Works great and is as cost effective as you can get apart from just pulling the intake hose from the thru-hull fitting and putting that in the bucket.

i just take the basket strainer and all out of the water intake, and have someone run a hose into that while it is running. it works fine. same when i winterize, i drrain the block and pour antifreeze into the intake thing right above the transmission
