    Perfect Pass Troubleshoot ?

I got Perfect pass that came with my 2003 210. I never use it, but I'm trying to teach my wife to drive some, and she does ok as long as the PP is working. The last time out I set it up for her jumped out to ride and she keep speeding up and slowing down. So I got in and went up the lake and noticed that it wasn't showing any speed on the right. I cut the boat off and tried it again and it showed speed for about 10 sec. and stopped. I checked all the connections that I know of and they seem ok. Has anyone had that happened and what kind of suggestions of things to try before I have to let the dealer look at it. Thanks...

    RE: Perfect Pass Troubleshoot ?

Perfect Pass has a characteristic that can cause problems. The computer in the Perfect Pass requires a consistent 12 volt supply. The servo motor draws a lot of current. If the electrical connections for the 12 volt supply to the Perfect Pass are not good, the voltage drops below 12 volts at the Perfect Pass control module, and the Perfect Pass shuts off.

It don't cut off like it lost power it just stops registering the speed of the boat. Would that still be a power problem..... but Thanks for the help Guys. I'm a old school driver, never had a cruise so i don't know anything about it.

g, when you say it isn't reading any speed does it register 0.0 or is the display blank?

Have you checked the paddle wheel under the boat to see if it is straight and free spinning?

Yeah it just shows 0.0 while in motion.......I haven't checked the wheel yet. I'm hoping to get to go this weekend and was seeing if anyone else had seen one do that, so I would know what to look for while we were out, cause it might be the last time out this year. : ( Thanks j2nh.

You should be able to spin the paddlewheel freely. With the ignition on (PP on) it should register a speed when it is spun. If the wheel binds then you have found the problem. Good luck and let us know what you find.
