Hi, my TDC mark on the damper is a 1/8 inch groove and the graduated scale is about 90 degrees off. Is it possible to mount the damper in two positions, eg. does the damper have two slots that could locate with the crankshaft key. I have suspicions as I have a small vibration at 1500 rpm and the whole hull and deck shakes, so I was supecting the damper. My engine has just been rebuilt. Appreciate any ideas on the subject.

Do you have any photos. Not sure where you are talking about. If they pull the motor you could have an alignment issue.

Hi, Yes I meant the harmonic balancer, the gradauted scale is not TDC. I have a slot that indicates TDC about 90 degtrees off set to the TDC slot, this corresponds to piston 1 at top and both valves closed. I am planning to pull the Harmonic balancer to see if it has two keyways slots.

Motor mounts are secure, what I notice most is that the FCC (fuel Filter) starts to shake and this resinates through the hull untill about 2000 rpm. I would just like someone to confirm that TDC is not on the graduated scale on the Hramonic balancer, but aligns with a single large slot on the Harmonic Balancer. Regards Greg.

Does not appear to have moved, besides if it had moved the slot would not line up at TDC. I would still like to cinfirm that the slot is TDC. Research on ford does show that they had two locations for TDC, some Harmonic Balancers (seen on Summit Racing website) have two graduation scales so can be used on either crankshaft.
