i called west coast cc the other day to price out having my boat changed to the faria gauges, i just thought it would be nice to have the dealer do it so i can have some sort of official piece of paper that states how many hours my boat had before i did the swap, and i figured while they were in there i could get a good deal on the pp install. they told me 11 hours total, 7 for the faria guages and 4 additional for the pp. does this sound right? i mean that is over 800 buck in labor? does anyone know of a dealer in northern cal/ northern nevada that would give me a better deal?

RE: price for faria/pp install
Toyota,
My boat's at WC CC right now getting the gauge swap, amongst other things. I probably could do it myself, but who has the time. Figured out the other day that I've only been golfing two times this year, only made it camping once, and did not make it up for snow skiing at all. Life's too short. BKH2001 Super Air

RE: price for faria/pp install
If you don't have the PP with the paddlewheel installed that sounds right and I would let them drill the 1.5" hole in the bottom of your boat. If you hadd PP the swap took me about 2 hours and I have posted the instructions in the download section here and pictures in the forum. Having said that. If your not handy or dont want to cut wires and solder connections on the end of the wires let them do it.Nautiqueless in San Diego

RE: price for faria/pp install
The Faria swap is for the 2000-2002 boats or for the 2003+ boats signature to Limited/Team gauges?
If it's the first, I would say it's quite a lot of hours. For PP only you'll need indeed 4 hours (did it myself with 2 of us in 2,5 hours). But the digital Teleflex to Analog Faria swap will only take a couple of hours. Not 7 imho.230 with ZR6 running on propane

RE: price for faria/pp install
I had the gauge swap done earlier in the year. If I remember correctly I paid for 6 hours. 4 was the install and 2 for them to test and GPS at the lake. I was very happy with the install that WCCC did. Hey Toyota can you please pm me I have a question about your PP placement.

RE: price for faria/pp install
I've had Perfect Pass installed twice by two different dealers (one a MC dealer; one a CC dealer). The billed time on both jobs was 2.5 hours. The PP manual lists (or used to list) this as the estimated install time as well. Neither of these installs included a lake test, which tends to add an hour in my experience. I told them that I'd check it out and bring it back if there were any problems. Didn't have any trouble after either install.
No idea on the time for the Faria gauge swap.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.
