    Impeller Question

OK here's a really dumb question - I've got a 96 Nautique with the Ford GT40 EFI motor. Where the heck is the impeller located so I can change it?

I'm running hot at slow speeds. When I go faster the temp drops right back down to normal. I'm assuming this is an impeller problem. I've checked the strainer and it's clean. So is the water intake. Any ideas?

    Thanks

You should have a Sherwood G21 pump if it is like my '93 Sport with the 5.8 Pro Boss. Look at the front of the engine and find the pulley with a few holes in it. It should have one hose on the bottom and one on the top. The top hose should lead into the thermostat housing. There are only two bolts holding it on besides the hoses. This link will show you better than I can explain it, and it tells how to swap the impeller. The G21 takes a #9959 impeller.

    Hope this helps.

also check your fittings on the water strainer and make sure thwe o-ring is in the water strainer and it is tight.
