    Wiring Problems 07 220

I recently purchased my first nautique ( 07, 220), and up untill late no problems. I have recently had a gateway replaced after loosing power to all my guages. Once the new gateway was replaced i had power to all my guages excluding Tacho, Speedo, temp, and perfect pass. After taking thew boat back again to the dealer and 2 weeks in the shop they discovered that there was a wiring fault between the ECU and the gateway.
After getting the boat back I took the boat out over the weekend with all guages working ,as i went over the wake of another boat the perfect pass disengaged and the speedo stopped working.
If i then speed the boat up and then backed off the power the speedo and perfect pass will renguage for a few seconds and then stop working again.

Has anyone had a similar problem ?
Can anyone give me any advise as to what the potential problem could be ?

I have spoke with the agent again, and he said he thinks it may be either the lanyard or the guages ? I disagree and think its some type of wiring problem.
    However i am no expert
This whole senario has been taking place for the past 6 weeks and is absolultely driving me nuts !!
Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated

    RE: Wiring Problems 07 220

Not quite sure if its related but worth trying - Did you try re-setting the Perfect Pass Servo ?
    Boat - 2005 Team 226 -ZR6 - Several Acme Prop's (1234, 644, 1160) Depending on occassion
Tow Rig - 2008 Chevy Silverado - Duramax Diesel - Crew Cab

Not sure what you mean when you say "servo"
However i have re set perfect pass settings and still did not rectify problem

The strangest part to the whole problem, is that both the speedo and perfect pass will work after speeding the boat and then slowing down, but will only work for a couple of seconds then stops again ?

A 2007 would be a drive by wire boat and therefore not have a servo.

Does the Perfect Pass show the same problems in RPM and Speed based modes?

Here's a link to the troubleshooting page on the Perfect Pass website:

A quick up date on my 220, is correct craft have got involved with my dealer in trouble shooting the problem after seeing my post , ensuring that the proper technical advice is coming through which has been great!!
What appears to have happened is the the wiring going from the paddle wheel to the gateway has been damaged by the fuel tank moving.
Apparently the fuel tank can move slightly. When the floor was removed the tank was sitting on the wire.
This to my mind does explain the intermitent problem with speedo and perfect pass not working then working.
Parts arrive this week and hopefully back out on the water this weekend, with speedo and perfect pass working !!!
Has anyone heard of this problem before or had the same problem ?

I would not be surprised if they find that the problem is at a connector. That is something heard of on many boats, in contrast to mobile fuel tanks. They are typically LOCKED in place by at least four anchors/brackets. ER

hes *** when he says its the lanyard, if the boats still running that cant be it, it would be a loose connection somewhere

I have a similar problem that has been driving me nuts on my 06 SANTE. When I go over a boat wake the perfect pass beeps and all throttle control shuts down to idle. I have to restart the engine to reset everything. I changed the fuel pump relay, ignition relay, throttle sensor and throttle computer. Nothing worked. Maybe I'll check into the wiring for the speedo under the fuel tank also. I'm open to any of your thoughts. Is it possible to disconnect the perfect pass? (that way I can eliminate another possiblilty)

It was the wire coming from my paddle wheel to the gate way, it had been crimped or crushed in between the fuel tank and the depth sounder, it was also siting between the bottom of the boat and the fuel tank as well. A big thanks to everyone that PM me or offered advise. Cheers

Fattymrm - not sure if its same but may be worth a look- PM me if you want anymore info on my problem.
