    25 Hour Service?

I have a new Air 226 with 25 hours on it. I have owened several new boats I.E. Malibu's and Centurion's and all they did for the 25 hour service was change the spark plugs and change the oil.

My question is; Do Nautique dealers do anything else or above and beyond that? I just hate paying around $280.00 for such a min. service.

Dealer only service items: Engine Alignment, Ignition System, Fuel Filters, Transmission and "V" drive-change fluid (B,C) and clean strainer.

Page 4 of your PCM O&M manual, "Owners Responsibility" Note 4
"owner or user shall follow or comply with the maintenance schedule, operation limits, and lay up instruction, as outlined in the owner's manual."

Page 5 "As the inboard engine owner, you should be aware that Pleasurecraft may deny you warranty coverage if your inboard engine or part has failed due to abuse, netlect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications."

Why take a chance if you have a problem latter down the road to be denied warranty coverage?

You spent $40,000 +++ on the boat certainly you can shell a little more for the maintenance.

      I agree with lcap.

I believe the first maintenace at 25 hours is a requirement to validate your warranty.

I also give you this advice, I changed my oil in the engine two months ago, the oil in the trans and v-drive one month ago. I will be taking the boat to the dealer for all future trans and v-drive oil changes. I will probably take it to them for engine oil as the only charge like $40 for that. It is a BIG PITA to change the other fluids in a v-drive!

Heck, I swear my entir 25 hour service only ran like $130, and i think that is a bragain after doing some of the work myself. I did not even attempt the other services like verification of engine alignment and shaft inspection etc.

Noboay ever said boat ownership was cheap, but it sure is fun 98% of the time. Just try to find a way to enjoy the other 2%.

The other thing that I know my dealer will do at 25 hours is check the shaft alignment, which is really important to catch early if vibration has caused any movement.

You want to get it done...believe me, it will be worth it in the long run.
