Seacock hadnle come off in me hand!

'04 SANTE, ZR6. Right peeps ... went to turn the main seacock on the raw water5 intake so I could run antifreeze through the flush kit and the ****ed handle simply turned (with some force - it felt like it was a little seized) and came off in my hand. It looks like it has sheered off clean looking at the bit that has broken. I don't have too much of a problem with having no seacock handle but I wondered if anyone knows how I can check to see if the valve itself is open or closed ... if it's open then no problem, if it's closed than I have an issue. Thanks

I would get under the boat with a wire coat hanger. If you can insert it beyond the valve it's open The other way is to take the hose off at the strainer and stick a garden hose in it. Turn the hose on and see how much water comes out the bottom of the boat. Next time you run it in real water check the temp guage to make sure you are getting enough water to cool correctly.

take the hose off and look. you will wish you spent the money too replace it when your boat sinks. dont let a $20 part ruin your 40k investment.
