    Idle / Fuel Question?

I have a '97 Nautique 196 w/ Pro Bass GT-40 5.8L EFI. Has run excellent, whent to winterize it, hooked up water, started motor (fired right up) was idling for 3-4 minutes, then shut off. When I turn it over it if fires for a milisecond; if I put it in neutral and throttle while starting it fires good through acceleration, but the second you stop or back off the throttle it shuts down imediatley so it runs for 1.5 seconds there. There does not seam to be any fuel delivery for idle or a constant speed (there is fuel in the tank). I came in to dig through the manual but if someone knows what this might be due to pleaase let me know.
    Thanks
    Matt

    RE: Idle / Fuel Question?

Might check the fuel pressure. If the fuel filter has not been changed, might be a good time to do that.

Check the low pressure and high pressure fuel pumps and their control relays.

OK, problem soved. Before I had figured it out I had checked the pumps and relays that day; what I hadnt checked was a dodo mistake...the emergency engine kill switch had fallen off...snapped er back on and presto, everything was fine. Thanks for the replies.
