Doug, thats pouring it in. Block is drained first, of course.

Brad, not sure what to tell you. My '90 would take closer to 3.5-4 gallons before the A/F would get past the riser. I could hear it draining into the fiberglass invertaflow muffler. On the Tique (302) I actually raised the front of the trailer up quite a bit after backfilling, and only a cup or so of A/F trickled out of the exhaust pipes. Are you draining the block first before backfilling? If so, do you raise the hose above engine height when pouring it in?

Yes I drained it. I leave the motor sitting level and I take the hose from the raw water pump and hold it as high as I could. It was at least two feet above the motor when I was pouring it in. Not quite sure where its all going. I am pretty confident in our frigid Texas winters that I should be fine.

Im on a level surface in the garage, too. Strange.

Since you drained the block, Im sure youre more than protected. Want to trade weather, by the way? We got 2" of snow yesterday.

            Andrew,
I used your drill it perpendicular to the threads, and I was able to at least drain the block. Any ideas on what to use for a pry bar? I have an approx. 7/32" hole...

I would use an allen wrench or a grade 8 bolt. Both are heat treated for strength.

yep, i'd go with an allen wrench....
if that doesn't work, then i'd use a steel rod that just fits into the hole. if it bends, heat it cherry hot with a torch, and then drop the bar into a bucket of COLD water (this will harden it) if it breaks, then ur just screwed.... lol, jk....

give that a shot, if that doesn't work, then i'll need to see a pic of it.... i have an idea, but i'll have to see a pic to describe it, and it'll take quite a bit of work...

I got the plug out!!

I definitely won the rock ape with a wrench award for this one. I'll post a pic of the damaged plug.

Man, mine didn't look nearly that bad. 1-1/16" box wrench did the trick for me.

                          East_tx_skier,

his plug was in the side of the block. A lot smaller and tighter place to work. You should have put a quarter next to it to show how small it really is......

I had a lot more room to work with the block plugs than with the manifold plugs given the exhaust pipe angle off the riser.

I am pretty sure Miljack doesn't have the GT-40, either... he had even less room to work with....
