    2001 SN wiring

My blower was not running although the switch LED illuminated green. I traced the problem to be inside the fuse box or CB box under the dash, the one that says do not open, any way I opened it and suspect the relay is not switching as the yellow wired confirmed as going to the blower does not come live. I found a spare 4 way connector coiled up under the dash with RED/ORANGE/YELLOW/BLACK wires, the mating part has 4 black wires that seen to be wired to a resistor cct. The yellow wire here comes live when I switch on my blower, and I hot wired my blower to this cct. Does anyone know the function of the resistor, seems that all extra cables intended for accessories have this resistor in the mating cable, if using this cable do you just remove the mating part of the plug. If you have seen it you will know what I'm on about. Appreciate any help. Cheers Greg

Sorry I can't help with your issue, but thank you for opening the box, I have wonder what was in there. Makes sense. Being the switches in the smart pod are more then likely rated at 5mA which is not enough to power a 2 -3 Amp motor there would be relays. More then likely the relay has a bad coil which opens and closes it. I can't speak for marina relays, but POWER relays don't like moist weather. Also this explains the delay when you push a button it takes a second (more then like 30cycles) for it to come on.

There is some electronics in there too, probably to decode the switch as only 4 wires come from the switch module, is this what I hear referred to as the "smartpod"?? Then a bunch of relays and CB's. The relays are made by NAIS. Has anyone attempted a repair??

Does your boat have a heater installed? If not, Orange/Red/Yellow/Black sounds a lot like a heater connection to me- 3 speeds and a ground.

I view the Smartpod as the button on the dash. I have heard the black box refered as "Grayhill box"

I don't have a heater not necessary over here in Dubai. I see from the diagram that the heater does use RED/ORG/YEL/BLK, strange that that yellow becomes 12 volts when I switch on my blower?? I will have to investigate more....Don't you just love being a boat owner!

I am looking for an answer to a similar question.

I found the same coil of wire under the dash of my 2000 Super Air while redoing some other wiring, and couldn't figure out what it went to.
So i uncoiled the loom and chased it to the main wiring harness that goes to the switch board under the dash.

I would just like to know what it is, it appears to be nothing. My guess would be wiring for the Launch Control system, which my boat did not come with.

It goes to pins 37, and 38 on the harness

                  Wire colors, Orange/Yellow, Orange/Red, with two Black(grounds)

Which are also looped back to themselves, through a resistor.

Can someone confirm what this is?
