hey guys well I istalled the new t-stsat and I ran the boat on the flush system for about twenty minutes, during which time the temp stayed at 180. I installed a 143 t-stat. do you guys think this is normal?

No, definitely not. You should run 150-160 on the hose with the 143 'stat.

Did you check for air leaks? Common culprits include loose hose clamps on the cooling lines, or a strainer bowl thats either not tightened or missing a gasket.
