    Flushpro vs. Fake a lake

Does anyone have input on this one? I also saw one in Ski Limited that hooks onto the grill of the raw water intake. Which one works the best? Thanks in advance.

I like and use the flush pro, you can see and control the water going in and you can put antifreeze in the winter.

I have a fake a lake, and it doesnt fit well on the water intake of my 99 ski. I have heard lots of people complain about the flush pro only lasting a season or two before it leaks. I just pull of the intake hose and put my garden hose inside it then clamp it. It works great, but its not something you want to do every time you go out, if your having to flush out salt or brackish water.

I love my flushpro..but I've only had it since March. I hope it doesn't leak in a year or so! I never want to have to get soaking wet putting the fake-a-lake on again!

The fake a lake is fine for starting in your driveway once a year. I'm assuming that's all you'll use it for...

Where do you get the FlushPro?
In the SN manual it said to use an"in line" flush method....is that different from FlushPro?

I run mine in my driveway quite a bit (Probably more than it's in the water :bang: ) for maintance, winterize & start-up.
I use the simple method of trash barrel & a 6'-0" pc. of clear tubing connected to the intake filter. Works great.
(I never liked the direct garden hose method. I think the engine wants more water faster than the hose can feed it.
Mine will empty the barrel faster than the hose can keep it full.)

Did you install a "T" inline, or just disconnect the hose from the filter?
It would be nice to have a three way ball valve like this:
                __________
                ___ \ _____
                ......| |
                ......| |

with a cap and hose fitting at the bottom!

If NE1 knows of one.........

                  Dr John,
I fitted a small stainless pickup to the back of my boat that as a small removable plug, garden hose attaches directly to this.(It looks like it was fitted in the factory) This is fed down inside the boat under the floorboards to the intake pickup onto a t junction that i fitted a stainless ballvalve. Its all simple, cheap and permantaly attached to the boat. When running the boat on the trailer i just plug in the garden hose, i dont even have to close of the ballvalve as the pump has enough suction to stop the water comming out through the main intake. When I want to flush the motor when the boat is in the water I just close the ballvalve- plug on the garden hose and run it. I set this up years ago and the boat has over 5500 hrs on the meter--- all in salt water (on two pcm motors) and still is running perfect.

                  Hope this helps

Thanks, great idea, but where did you find such a fitting? Is there a plug accessed from the outside?
