    cover supports

I use 4" PVC pipe that I purchased at Lowe's...One 10 foot section cut into a 6' and 4' sections. You can buy rounded end caps to fit over the ends that touch the cover. Then I place the 6 footer over the ski pylon and the other supports my cover behind the engine box...all for under $25. It's strong enough ( 4" diameter) to withstand hot days and heavy Indiana thunderstorm winds. It's also extremely easy to put up in case of a quick rain shower. Make sure you but the rounded end caps as otherwise you may shred your cover. Nothing fancy, but I've tried alot of other more expensive methods and this works the best.

In my 2002 Ski Nautique SE, I use those inexpensive expanding/camping chairs that you can find at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. (no leg rest) I set it up so it's "wedged" in-between the engine cover and the back seat. The top of the back of the chair provides the support for the boat cover. I'll fold a towel over several times and put it on top of the back of the chair, so the cover has a soft, rounded surface to be tightened down on.

Much easier then building some contraption out of PVC, heat won't effect it, and when not it use the chair collapes and fits into it's own small bag.
