    Impeller replacement 2001 SAN How do I, and where is it?

    I started my boat while on the boat lift and it wasnt all the way in the water I guess because I smelled a burnt rubber smell and when I put in the water it wants to heat up but I have turned it off before overheating or anything. Where is the impleller? is it in the front of the engine near me when leaning over the seat? or is it in back by the transom and under the big black muffler thing.

    I have tools, and have done on my old 94 nautique and on a 91 ski centurion which was only three phillips head screws to get at it.

      If you are familiar with the impeller on a 94 nautique then you should know where to go on the 2001 SAN. The water pump is on the side of the engine facing the seating area...if you look at it from the front, it will be the pulley to your far left. Open her up and you'll find the impeller.

      If you notice pieces missing from the impeller, you're going to have to do some searching in the motor to make sure that you've gotten them all, starting with the thermostat.

          Which engine do you have? The impeller on my GT40 is in the back right corner of the engine as your kneeling on the back seat looking into the engine compartment. You will have to take the carpeted dividers up and out on that side to get at it.

                  Ahh, I keep forgetting that the motor is turned around on the V-drive compared to a DD....my bad.

                      Thank you all, the impellor was on the rear lower right corner and pretty easy to remove and replace.
