    I took the plunge

......and I ordered the New dimension tower and 2 board racks for my 93 sport  I talked with Wayne and he is a genuinely nice guy. Took time to answer all my questions in detail no matter how small or dumb. I have heard nothing but great things about him and his towers so here we go. He said it might be here by friday and I cant wait. I am hoping to get it set up in the coming weeks, so I will post pictures and thoughts about it when it gets here and with install

Thanks again Wayne  I am pretty stoked

TRDON -- yes, please be sure to post pictures. Did you get it color matched?

I installed my ND tower last weekend and cant say enough good things about it. Super quality and finish work. I got mine powder coated and added the light on the tow point. I will post some pics later this weekend. Great choice....

I did not get it color matched. I had thought about it but I figured black would get really hot in the sun, and this is my boat......

so I didnt really want to go with purple because I am trying to drtract from the purple. I ended up going with a clear anodized brushed finish.

BChesley, how was the install? I am more handy than the average person so I assume it wont be too bad but what was your thoughts on how the install went? Good easy to follow instructions? I cant wait

The install was pretty easy. If you are ever thinking of doing tower speakers then pre wire it uninstalled. I had to use some straps to squeeze it just a little to get it where I wanted it. After I drilled my holes I took a stone bit to flare the top of the hole. This will all but eliminate the chance of a crack in the gel from the hole. The hardest part was digging the foam out where the backing plates go. I did not use any of the buildup material that they sent. The decks on Correct Craft boats are more than strong enough. The front legs come with holes in the deck mounts but the backing plates do not have holes so make sure you drill them in line. I went to start wiring mine and had to redrill from the backing plate through the deck and through the deck mounting plate. That was not fun. I had a buddy help me do it and it took about 2 hours with some goofing off inbetween. I will post some pics later. I am going to the shop to work on it.

TRDon, you will be very happy with it. I installed one on my 97SS a littel over a year ago. Wayne and his crew are great people and do wonderful work. Be sure to post some pics when you get it installed.

A friend of mine and I put mine up in about 2 hours. I did reinforce the backing plates with the tiger hair resin that New Dimensions supplies with it. Yes I agree that CC makes a strong gunnel, but anything I can do to prevent stress crack I will. My old tower, which was built locally, had backing plates w/out any kind of reinforcement. And between the 2, the NDT is much more solid and since I reinforced the gunnels, they move a lot less. I would do it again, my thoughts are that Wayne supplies it for a reason.
And I agree w/ Bchesley, digging out the foam is the worst part, but not that bad. I used a flat head screw driver and just dug away....

Good luck, cant wait to see it.

My buddy came up with a pretty good idea. Use a brass bristle spin brush for a drill and use that to get down most of the way. I will give that a try and let you know how it is.

As far as the rear driver mount, does it interfere with the wiring and the PVC sleave for the wiring on that side? The sleave is actually sprayed into the foam.

On mine it slightly interfered but wasnt so bad I couldnt move it out of the way. Kinda made it a pain to get it all cleared out and get the backing plate up there with the fiberglass reinforcement without making a complete mess, but it wasnt that bad.

When you drill your holes for the tower go back with a cone shaped stone bit for a dremel and ream the hole. That is what the factory does.

Will do, I am supposed to get it tomorrow I guess. If I do, my riding pal wants to come over saturday and set it up, or at least start. Good thing I have a heater for my garage, it is gonna be barely above 0 this weekend again.

I didnt get it friday but I called him and he said they finished up welding it and sent it out thursday so it will be here monday or tuesday. Since I just got laid off friday, I will have plenty of time to get it put on next week I think. I will take my sweet time so it is perfect too.

I got it and am trying to mount it now but I dont think I got the adjustment measurements for the legs for the 93-97 sport. If someone could please post them, I cant get it to line up correctly and I think the adjustments may be off.

                            Thanks.

Never mind, Wayne got back to me and it was all good, just ironing out some details and I should be almost there. Bummer is I wont get it all done because I am gonna wait until it gets warmer to get the resin set in there. I may be looking towards march tgo get that part but we will be getting the hard part done in the meantime. I will be puting up pictures pretty soon regardless.
