    Heater install

This is how I mounted my heater in a 206 w/Excalibur.

The heater unit is mounted behind the foot panel in front of the driver. I had a hard time finding a spot that would allow enough room to allow the air hoses to be recoiled back into the compartment. This diagnol spot worked the best (I checked w/heatercraft and it can be mounted in any orientation). Be careful not to drill into the sidewall of the boat.

I preferred to just have one speed for the fan (high). To do this, only hookup the orange wire from the heater motor, this is the high speed. Hook it up to your switch then hookup your switch to the fuse panel (simple switch w/o smartpod). Then hookup the ground from the motor to the ground on the fuse panel (use a 10 amp fuse).

Hookup the water hoses to the heater (It does not matter which is which). I then ran the hoses thru the ski locker and bilge to the engine ( trying to get them thru the stringer with the other wires etc... was impossible....for me). You will need to use a 4" hole saw to drill the tube holes into your kick panel. I did not use the "y" fitting to hookup the defroster.

At the end of the screwdriver are the two block plugs to tap in to. These are the recommended locations to tap into with the supplied hose barbs, and again, it does not matter which of the 2 water hoses goes where.

Looks good. Now that you are done, can you come over and install mine. Unfortunatly, my SAN has way more stuff behind the kick panel, which is going to make the install very interesting.

    Yours looks great.

It is also good to see that somebody else has also mounted their fire etinguisher to the kick panel. Why CC does not make that the standard mounting location, I don't know.

The fire extinguisher is mounted at the dealer unless you get the special one right from the factory that is mounted under the engine box above the stringers. You can move it though.

Putting the fire extinguisher under the motorbox is not the brightest of ideas. Extinguisher should be mounted in an easy to access area away from areas of combustion. You would not want to have to stick your hand into a burning engine compartment to get the fire extinguisher.

j2nh it is not your normal fire extinguisher. It is one that will go off on its own so you don't have to pick it up and spray at the fire.

I would call that the fire suppression system, not a fire extinguisher.

Either way, mine came loose in a box with the boat as well as the "bag" of life jackets and throw "cushion". I had to go to the depot and get a bracket, and mount it to the panel.

I had some time to try the new heater. It really blows! It puts out some nice hot air, that is. Good news, once the engine is warmed up, it still puts out hot air at idle using the recommended engine hookup points (OAT was 45-50 degrees). It kept the wife and kids toasty.
