What a about spray in bed liner?

I have a 80's skip-jack that I aquired from a M-crap dealership in MI. The only reason I wanted it, is because it was different and a little something from Sea World. I didn't want to spend a lot of money redoing the interior so I took it to a local place and have spray in bedliner sprayed in the interior. Now there are several colors available. Mine is red.

I am not sure you are going to fix the problem with the exercise mattes. The carpet CC uses is made of polypropylene. I am not sure what the backing is on the glue down carpet but most likely it is also polypropylene. The backing on the carpet on my 211 is an open cell rubber that takes forever to dry. Polypropylene does not absorb water like nylon (house carpet). The water is just sitting on/in the carpet it is not in the fibers. The same water will sit in the seams of the mats or under the mats and cause the same problem as the carpet.

The sheet material would be better but if it is self sticking it will be very hard to match the pattern and keep the pattern straight in the rest of the floor. Vinyl installers will sometimes top cut the seams after the material is down.

I went through the same decisions a few years ago. One thing I considered was pulling up the carpet. adding a gel coat to the floor then using a snap system like in the 211 but with no exposed floor. That way you could pull the carpet up and let things breath.

Does your boat seats dry out or other things like that. You said your vest and binding don't dry. Maybe it would be better to look at a fan system in the area where you store your boat. If you move air over your carpet is should dry. If they used the same backing on the carpet that My 211 has then you will not get the back dry with a fan.

Most times a good fan with the dehumidifier inside will work better, outside I think fan would work better.

I was suggesting the dehumidifier for when Crowland has it stored while not at the cabin. Definitely no good outside.

Sorry, It sounds like you know how they work but some people don't understand. I have seen builder try crazy things with them including using them outside.

Crow, the fiberglass floor is solid, but not necessarily flat. High spots can occur. Though slight, the pad material would not stick. Plus, as stated, it would get hard & uncomfortable imo. What did you decide? ER
